Consulting the plans for a project

The rest of the photographs from today cover the installation of the wheel set into their frame. I have done my best to describe what is going on, so any additional input would be welcome.

...and here it comes. Amazing how easy they roll when on the track

Lubricating the axle on the wheel

Now the axle framing and bushings are on

moving the wheel forward to they can lower the fame onto the frame

Tilting the bushing slightly so it lines up to the frame

Slowly is the name of this game

You do very good with your descriptions. Here is a little more info on this one. "Tilting the bushing slightly so it lines up to the frame"
That is the Axle Box that holds the brass bearing, along with oil and waste material to distribute the oil.

A lot of time went into installing a new coupler onto the Gramps tank car 11050 and here is a selection of the photos taken.

A powered lift is being used to get the coupler placed on the Gramps car

Working on getting the coupler to proper alignment

A better view as the coupler is eased into its housing by the power lift

The coupler in its pocket is now being eased under the car
