06-11-15 in the yard

Unread postby Larry Gibson » Thu Jun 11, 2015 6:46 am

Looks like all that recent moisture has created a lush growth spurt in and around the yard as the sun warms the day. Pretty quiet yet until around 8:00 as 488 begins to move for the day. Think we could use a gardner to trim the tall growth away on the edge of the ashpit now. later is down to the tank to replenish the tender. After running up the main and over to the coal dock it's time for the scoop of the day. Followed by a wash down. Finally all is set for 216 to head east today.

Please check back later in the day for Larry's departure and arrival videos.

After turning the train at the wye, 489 then spotted the flat car near the pile of ties, and looks like in the roadway there. Loading commenced of some pallets of some kind of equipment. 489 now doing some switching in the South yard.
