Unread postby Tim Tennant » Tue Mar 27, 2012 2:11 pm

The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad (Denver & Rio Grande Railroad San Juan Extension) nomination will be presented to the National Park Service's Landmark Committee in Washington, DC on May 15, 2012. The Advisory Board (next step in the process) will discuss the Landmark Committee's recommendations May 22nd & 23rd. The Advisory Board's recommendations go to the Secretary of the Interior through the Director of the National Park Service. Assuming the Advisory Board recommends designation, the designation will probably occur several months later. Letters of support may be sent to;

Mr. J. Paul Loether
Chief, National Register of Historic Places & National Historic Landmarks Program

Written comments will be accepted prior to the May 15, 2012 Landmarks Committee meeting.
