While I was looking at some Sandhill Cranes this guy flew by. North of Socorro, New Mexico

That's a lot prettier than the "Harriers" I saw frequently in a former life.

I bet it's a helluva lot more quiet as well. :lol:

Great pictures Roger. I've never seen a bird of prey like that before. That is the best picture of a jump jet I've ever seen, great picture Jason too bad they are not keeping them.

Didn't know they were being phased out. What is replacing it? The Osprey?

Current plans are to phase out the Harrier by 2025.
The replacement F35B is supposed to be operational this summer.

Well, don't worry Jason, it gets worse the older you get. They are having quite a few problems with the F-35b but I'm sure they will get them ironed out.

Well on the bright side, Marines don't need fancy aircraft. We've been blowing stuff up and helping the enemy die for his country for 240 years. Most of that was without aircraft. :smiley16:
