New WebCam Pages

Unread postby Jason Rose » Tue Dec 02, 2014 8:01 am

The new webcam pages are live. Thanks to everyone that helped me tweak them. Special thanks to Rich Murray for creating the station signs. They look great!

*The "horizontal" page is designed for modern monitors displaying at least 1920X1080. If you're using older hardware/software or have your resolution lowered for a larger font, the page may not fit correctly. If you're seeing those annoying scroll bars, try using the "vertical" page.

As always, I'm open for suggestions and better ideas.

Enjoy.

For those that haven't yet heard, there will be trains running this Saturday (12/6) and next Saturday (12/13).

Nice! I do notice, though, that on this old Mac G4 (OS 10.4) Safari 4.1.3, that the traffic cams try to refresh every 20 seconds while, of course, there's nothing new for 10 minutes. Also, the feeds from the pass are very good but Antonito is pretty low res; it might look better if smaller.

Thanks. This is fun.

be well,

The page reloads the CDOT images every 60 seconds even though there's only a new image every 10 minutes or so. Since people can open this page at any point in the CDOT refresh cycle, I thought it was best to refresh often so the most current image is always displayed. Some tweaking to this may occur if warranted.

Yes, the Antonito camera is much lower resolution. My guess is that's because the cellular network over there is terrible (one of the reason there isn't a Friend's camera there... yet) and this is a cost-saving measure. Frankly, I am surprised by the quality of the Cumbres cameras.
