Train Shows Coming Up

Unread postby Tim Tennant » Tue Jan 21, 2014 9:59 am

Here's a quick note of a couple of model railroad and train show events in the near future in which the Friends will be present. The Amherst Railway Society Railroad Hobby Show is this weekend, January 25 & 26 at the Eastern States Exposition Fairgrounds in West Springfield, MA. Show times are; Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunday 10am-5pm. Stop by and say hello to Cal & Peter Smith. The Rocky Mountain Toy Train Show will take place on March 1 & 2 at the Denver Mart, 451 East 58th Avenue in Denver. Show times are; 10am-5pm both days.

Mike, there are quite a few places in Chama to stay, depending on your needs of course. You might start here http://www.cumbrestoltec.com/node/765
to begin your search.

Vista del Rio is a big supporter of the Friends and helps support the web cameras

The owners of The Hotel are also Friend's members and long-time supporters.

My family has stayed at both places and would happily recommend them.

Rich & Jason:

Thanks for answering Mike's question. I would concur with their advice (Vista Del Rio and Hotel & Shops) plus the Chama Trails Inn is a good place to stay and Friends supporter. Have a good trip over and see you in May!

I stayed at the Chama Trails Inn last year for the fall goose fest. Nice room & rate but the Wi-Fi was poor in our room. It appears the transmitter is in the office and if you are far away, it gets weak.

Snow should be gone in Chama. However it has snowed at that time of year. May 29th will be B session. Please stop by and visit with us in Chama and Antonito.
