Oct 24th Yard info

Unread postby Tom Casper » Thu Oct 24, 2013 7:47 am

One dead loco was pushed back into the rt track of the shop with the front end loader. A hot engine is on the main in front of the passenger cars. Another hot engine is on track 2 or the left shop track.

As a quick edit, I think it ran out on air as it wasn't toed, maybe pushed by the loader but I didn't see that. All of a sudden it appeared!

Yep, just left.

The locomotive that came out of the engine house was 463. I recall seeing it almost burst out of the building in a cloud of smoke, but it only made it as far as the first switch. Then the front loader came about and pushed it back; there doesn't seem to be any smoke coming from the engine house and there didn't seem to be any prior to 463's appearance. It's hard to say from a distance, but it seems like that machine continues to have more maintenance issues than I'd expect after a rebuilding. But it's old.

be well,

First video is the front end loader pushing back 463 into the engine house - sorry, didn't catch anything before this of the day.

2nd video - departure of 489 with the hospital train. Left a bit long at the end, as you can clearly hear the sound of the train all the way out of the yard, then the final whistle.

some time 463 went to the left shop track and the hot engine went to the right shop track.
