10.22.24 Hospital train or charter

Looks like a hospital train is set to depart Chama this am. There are a number of people at the depot, so wonder if its a charter move.

George, there is nothing on either the Friends Facebook or web pages about a special, but that does not mean anything.

I think I remember there being a charter about now. And based on seeing the Rio Grande logo on 489's tender just new when it passed the tipple, I am going with this being a charter.

489 took the standard 9 car consist out just past 10 am MDT. Looked like most of the passengers were in the 4th coach back. Both of the premium cars were loaded.

The Lerro Photography photo charter is running this week but according to their schedule, the 21st, 22nd and 23rd all run out of Antonito. They also mention the Galloping Goose will follow today, the 23rd, but the Goose is currently at Chama - referencing the web cams the morning of the 23rd.

I was wondering if the run yesterday, October 22nd out of Chama at 10:00am was the Friends/employees train. I've searched the Dispatches and the extras for information but could not find anything for October 22.

Well, that charter yesterday went through to Antonito, so maybe it was also the hospital train to get the cars over there for the winter. Just got a charter fee out of what is normally a non revenue run.
