Interesting, train time on 8/30/22 and no loco

It has come up to 10 am MDT, people are milling about the depot and so far no loco has even come out from the house. Wonder what the problems is/are? Just went back to check and 484 just pulled up to the pit.

Sharon,

I don't know what the trouble was but the train finally departed at 10:45. The train was not re-positioned so the first class & parlor car folks had to get dirty shoes.

A week or so before that, the westbound had not arrived by 8pm (10pm EDT when I go to bed) but the equipment was in place the next morning. I learned that there
was a problem with a journal on the engine. I assume it was a hot bearing and I hope it was not on a driver axle, those are hard to repair.
