Photos From 463 Returning Movie Cars

Unread postby Steve Forney » Thu Jul 11, 2013 7:56 pm

I was fortunate enough to ride the freight train Wednesday, 10 July, where 463 moved the movie cars back to Chama. REEEALY NICE! Thanks, John, for opening this up for a few very lucky riders.

Thanks for the kind comment, Blake.
I never expected to ever ride a "freight", other than a photo excursion, so this was not a hard decision. 0579 isn't real big, but there was room for more. Maybe next time . . . .

Steve, I'll second Blake's comment. (I really like that first one)

Thanks, Rich and Jason. I was quite lucky I was able to jump on this at such short notice. The only regret is that I wish I'd washed the cupola windows. I hope I got some useable video.

Steve, I actually liked the "taken by crew" look of the dirty window and the reflections. (believe it or not I'm not making a joke[this time])
I'm glad to hear you shot some video and will be looking forward to that. My wife will think you're the worlds greatest videographer too as she has kept asking if anyone had videoed that run.

I'm with Rich. The dirty windows add some authenticity to the shot. I like it.

Man... what a way to spend a day... riding a freight through the mountains...

I gotta agree with Jason and Rick on this one. I love the look of the dirty windows because it gives it that 1940's look!
It looks like they took off the movie lettering already. Did they keep the box headlight on it?
Will you be posting the video on youtube?
Enjoy
