Here it is, the final Train 216 of 2020. It only seems like yesterday when I was watching the final 216 of 2019.

Ah, the wind cooperated with you this morning. Now all there is left will be the Christmas trains if they are run.

It is highly unlikely that the Christmas trains will run this year due to social distancing requirements making it difficult to run. Have to admit though, I have enjoyed the recent smokey departures.
I sure hope that there will be some off-season activities soon. Who knows, maybe even 463 will poke her face out.

Well here it is folks, the final Train 215 of the 2020 season hauled by 487, a bit later than usual all because some idiot chose to apply grease to the rails at Coxo. Larry, I believe you meant 2020 there. One wonders what the C&TS will be like in that year...

Well, we can all safely say that this season has been strange. At the commencement of what was supposed to be a terrific season was the spectacular OY charter in February/March, and from that point on, things were expected to get better. However, when Covid came along, things took a U-turn for many railroads, particularly the C&TS in its 50th season. But thanks to a dedicated team of railfans who have served our railroad so well for many generations, they would not let it slumber for long. And although things have been a little different, that does not stop us enjoying this stunning piece of engineering and running and maintaining it. And of course the scenery will never get any less superb! And as 2020 comes to a close, let us pray that 2021 will be a full and successful season. In the meantime, I will look out for any off-season steam and I'm certain 15 will get some use too.
To finish, long live the Cumbres and Toltec: a railroad that will never die.
