Antonito session F2 day 4, 29 July

Day 4 of session F2 was a busy one based on the pictures that I received.

These next shots seem to show a Friends work team repacking the bearing boxes on some old freight cars.

Not sure what type of freight car this is, but its in rough shape

Another of those possibly stock cars, not the sky was green in the original

Wooden blocks and judging by the shape will be placed around the axles in the journal box

Looks like the block is being inserted

Would think this is oil being poured into the journal

Well, well, we now know what those mop like things are, journal packing

Getting this new packing in place is a dirty hands job

Forth day of session F2 continues.
So lets gets back to MW02.

Hood of MW02

Using the loader to remove the hood from MW02

Carefully with the lift and off it comes

The hood is sat down on wooden blocks until needed

The hood is gone and the MW02 is ready to move inside

Look at the cooling lines and front frame

Looks like the MW02 had some passengers riding around

The MW02 is going to need a lot of work getting it back running

Now for some other areas of work done.

That repair to the top rail of the rider gon is now painted

The other repaired area is also done

Working on the brake rigging under one of the tank cars

Using the shop press to fabricate need parts for the brake rigging

The needed bend is placed into the rod

Another bend and this shows how the operator uses various pieces of metal to assist

This Friend is at the drill press working again
