PARKING NOTICE

The Chama station parking lot and entrances will NOT BE AVAILABLE for Friends’ use during C and D Sessions due to the “Thomas the Tank Engine” event. The depot parking lot will be occupied with vendor displays, visitors, and dedicated bus access. Friends’ parking will be in the field south of the engine house and east of the rail yard, accessible from Manzanita Dr. Please use the temporary parking area whenever you come to the yard during the C and D Sessions.

To get to the Friends’ parking area:
Go south from downtown Chama on Terrace Ave (Highway 17) cross the railroad tracks at the stockyards wye.
Turn east on Manzanita Dr. shortly past the railroad crossings (about half-a-mile south of downtown Chama). There will be an orange Friends parking sign (see picture below) at the intersection. Follow the road north along the east side of the railroad yard. The pavement ends after some distance so continue on the dirt road until reaching the parking area, go through the gate and proceed to the north end of the field.

Friends Check-In for Chama will be at the Log Bunkhouse at the north end of the railroad yard. Park on Terrace Ave or use the temporary parking, DO NOT DRIVE INTO THE AREA OF THE LOG BUNKHOUSE. The check-in staff will be available at the Log Bunkhouse from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Please walk down the driveway or through the regular parking lot for access, the bunkhouse is to the left (north) past the coal pile. Please use caution when crossing the tracks from the temporary parking area as trains will be moving throughout the day.
