11/26 Snow & Smoke

Snow is falling and smoke can be seen coming from the West stall stack of the shop building .

The engine, which I believe is 488, is now outside.

After having to dig out the switch due to so much falling snow, 488 comes to the pit to have her fire cleaned.

Then 488 heads down to the south yard to do some switching.

After completing the switching 488 heads to the north yard. There was so much smoke obscuring the south cam view so only a shot from the north.

488 has backed down to the passenger consist. So perhaps they are positioning the coaches ready for the Christmas train. 488 backs the coaches down to the depot in readiness for the special weekend.

488 is out working in the yard on this snowy day. Now it looks like 488 is headed to the North end of the yard and picking up the string of cars and backing back to the Depot. At 10:50 MT 488 departs North to out of town to Antonito.

Would guess George that 488 went east light locomotive. The snow is coming down hard enough that 15 minutes after the 488 departed, the main is almost covered over with snow again.
