Finally, something different happening in the yard! Earlier this morning, 15 moved 463 in to the west stall and now she is as hot as an engine can be. 463 is due to move some coaches to Antonito and the come back with OY. Should be an interesting off season.

While this was happening, 15 was fired up, most likely to do its usual...

Not sure why it was started because it has now shut down. Well this is interesting, it has started again. Yep.

The occurrence of 315 pulling 315 out of the roundhouse has happened every day for 3 weeks.

Just got home and what I presume is 488 is at the north end of the yard coupling to the passenger cars in north yard and the speeders are set to follow this train up the hill.

Sharon, it was 463 on the point of that extra early this afternoon. She is positioning those coaches in Antonito and likely tomorrow will come back to Chama with OY in convoy. 488 will head east also and will stay there to power the Christmas trains again. That also explains why 463 was moved inside the West stall earlier today. 488 is likely on the south side off the house. Thanks for posting those shots when I wasn't't observing.

Something curious has just happened...

15 came out with a loco that appeared to be without its cab, then quickly put it back in again, and vice versa. I am thinking, could this be 487? It would make sense since she has just had her drivers reinstalled.

Jack, this raises an interesting point. They usually like to have a plow equipped locomotive in Chama for the Christmas trains due to possible snow while it is usually not necessary in Antonito. If 488 heads east then a heavy snow could cancel the trains in Chama since they are the weekend before Antonito. The other plow equipped locomotive in 487 which is still undergoing service.

It was according to Mr. Bush, Sharon. I was thinking the exact same thing. It makes no sense for 488 to go to Antonito when she is the only suitable engine for Chama' s Christmas trains. That would leave only little 463 left, who wouldn't stand a chance against those heavy falls.

I have just received a PM from Jonathan Cordova saying that 487 will be completed in time for the Christmas trains and 488 is still intended for Antonito' s. Everything is now settled.

Interesting... #463 is back in Chama. and earlier I saw copious plumes of smoke on the Antonito webcam. #15 has been busy shuffling things around today, and the string of boxcars is back by the round house. OY's water car is sitting on the siding just past the carpentry shop, and #15 is idling in front of #315, in preparation for putting it away for the night. It's been a busy day.

I am thinking that 463 took those coaches to Cumbres and then 19 took them on to Antonito.
