Hope someone will catch the arrival in Chama later and will post. I’ll be away and won’t be able to see myself.
Will it be 463 or 489 and how many cars?? Thx

I will try Larry - depends on when it is due to arrive in Chama. The engine looked like a K-36 so would guess 489 will be motive power and 463 spends the winter in Antonito.
No idea on the number of cars, I would guess it'd be the normal 7 car consist.

They may or may not stop in Osier since they have closed the kitchen for the season and would guess that the charter is carrying food. If they do not stop would say a 3 pm MDT arrival, stopping closer to 4. 463 remaining in Antonito would be fine since it is usually the locomotive which takes the first 215 west each season and it can handle the Christmas trains there without problems.

I will not be able to record the arrival, as it is bed time in the UK so if anyone else could post on it that would be great.

With 489 still in Antonito, it must now be completely out of flue time so they can use it to bring the OY back to Chama before the snow flies to much. That would mean the 484 would go over to Antonito for the Christmas trains since 488 needs to stay in Chama since it has the plow, yet 484 has already had its tender removed. Once 489 goes down they will have to expedite the running gear work in 487 so they are not down 2 K36s.

Sharon, I heard yesterday that 489 will be getting the 1472 in Antonito under Stathi's guidance. I guess he needs something to keep him bysy over the winter now that 168 is done for the most part. ;-)

Finally: mystery solved!
At this point, only 463 is available for Antonito's Christmas trains since 488 will be used for Chama's, though she is currently cold; guess she will have her tender removed some point next week. That leaves 484; it makes completely no sense for her tender to be removed when she may need to be called upon for use on the extras. Maybe it is just because of some work needing to be done on 484, despite her sitting outside the west stall almost all week.

484 has to be the hero of the hour since there is no way old 168 would be able to be used.

So one mystery has been solved and another has appeared. Also a mystery is how OY will be ferried back to Chama.

Sharon, whether or not things happen that way will be a measure of my auditory acuity, aka BS Detector.
