The north camera is now out as well. I'll do what I can from Houston, but that ain't much.

To boot, the south cam is out of focus, so we hope that it, at least stays with us as the season begins.

The south cam has been in and out of focus for a while. Usually out in the mornings and then getting better as the day warms up. Hopefully that will resolve itself as the season grows warmer.
Of course now that I've commented, that will all change. ;-)

I was able to fix the focus on the South Cameras.

FWIW, I believe I know what's wrong with both cameras, but i need to have boots-on-the-ground to fix it. Mine are currently 1000 miles away.

Also, we're investigating a full replacement of the camera gear and network. This will likely lead to additional cameras.

That's good news. just the other day I was thinking about how long the current cameras have been on line and wondered about their expect life cycle.

Yup. I have that concern a lot. 7 years is a LONG tine to be out in the elements that Chama has. And, the technology has advanced considerably in that time. We can do a lot more for a lot less these days.

Man.. if I lived closer and had a modest budget... the things I could do...

Maybe the camera problems are some weird kind of Rocky Mountain fever. Colorado DOT and Wyoming DOT cams have been going belly up for about a week now.
