Roger Hogan just sent out the snowfall figures for Chama, and they're impressive:

NORMAL SNOWFALL JULY THRU END OF MONTH:76.94
SNOWFALL JULY TO DATE: 117.50***
NORMAL SNOWFALL FOR THIS MONTH :20.99
SNOWFALL THIS MONTH:43.5**

I keep waiting for the red firehose shack to disappear on the east Tipple camera!

Would not surprise me that a loader will be needed again this spring to clear the road to Osier, same as 2017. Also should see 19 bucking the snow to open the line again like 2017.

How's the weather in Albuquerque?

Weather was pretty nasty yesterday, came in earlier than expected. 3 or 4 inches in town which means all the drivers who don't normally drive on snow were playing bumper cars. Up where I am in the E. Mountains, back side of the Sandias at 7,300 ft, we got 6-8 inches plus wind. A good day to stay inside and marvel at the snow in Chama.

We (she who must be obeyed and I) have been paying attention to the snow amounts in Chama and the rest of the 4 corner states area and saying that is great! The area needs it's water supplies replenished. But, like a good bourbon it can be over-done. I wonder where that point might be.

And like good bourbon, that replenishment also takes a fair amount of time. But this winter is certainly adding up some good "ingredients."

Hopefully this will relieve the fire situation a bit for the summer. Seems like we have a good system to keep things safe, but any help from Mother Nature is appreciated!
