$300,000 NM Appropriation Request for Chama Depot

Unread postby Dick Cowles » Tue Mar 19, 2013 7:33 am

Keep your fingers crossed. At yesterday's meeting Commissioner Randall revealed that at the 11th hour of the NM legislative session an appropriation of $300,000 for renovation of the Chama Depot was added to HB 2 the General Appropriation bill, and that bill is now gone to the Governor Martinez for signature. She has until 4/5 to do any line-item vetoes. This depot appropriation request was the one cut from the Capital Outlays bill. Let's just say that sticking a capital outlay proposal in the General Appropriation bill is a very, very, very rare maneuver, but hopes are high. Hats off to the Commission, its lobbyists, and Rio Arriba's Senator Richard Martinez who has been a true stalwart for the C&TS. :smiley24:
