I realize this is short notice but we have an opportunity to offer Friends members an opportunity to ride a special train next Tuesday October 3, 2017. The C&TS Engineer School will be operating their train from Chama to Antonito on that day. We have been allowed to place RGS Caboose 0400, one other caboose, the concession car and a rider gon in this train plus some freight cars. The fare is only $50 and includes a box lunch, water, sodas and snacks. The train will depart Chama at 8:00AM SHARP. We will arrive in Antonito at 3:30PM. The regular motorcoaches will depart around 4:45PM return the group to Chama by 6:00pm. We are limiting the group to 25 people. We need to have a head count for lunches to Osier by Saturday September 30. Please call the office at 505-880-1311 or email me at timtennant@cumbrestoltec.org if you would like to make a reservation. The proceeds from this trip go towards offsetting the costs of rebuilding RGS Caboose 0400. Thank you!

Saw the Facebook post and looks wonderful, too bad I am in Virginia. Is this being staged for the diner train 10/7?

Sharon, no the Engineer School next week presented itself and was a way to get the RGS 0400 back over to Antonito while at the same time affording an opportunity to ride. The railroad provided the opportunity so we took them up on it.
