Beautiful crisp morning in the Chama Depot rail yards. Locomotive #488 leaves the engine house promptly at 8:00 A.M. headed for the ash pit to drop spent coal ash and clinkers accumulated during the night. Once at the pit, a hostler starts clearing the grate, while the sun paints the steam and smoke with early morning water colors.
I was pleased to learn that Sharon is able to spend some time attending to her personal needs today, while still chronicling the happenings on the Chama&Toltec Scenic Rail Road video cameras. During the days I spent filling the Web Camera space with videos and some stills, it was necessary that I be at the computer monitor, with all recording facilities at the ready, to capture the action at the Chama rail yards. Jason and Sharon have the ability to record the entire day's activities with their Bandicam software, edit it at a later time, and then post the most pertinent footage. I found myself confronted with the seemingly ever present video reset arrow in the middle of a capture. Yes, they always occurred when the action on the monitor seemed the most important. Sharon has exhibited a dedication to the task or recording the camera activity seldom found with any volunteer in any situation. She deserves the conveniences unattended and uninterrupted video recording offers. I am grateful the Friends make them available to her. .

Not much happening this morning, except I met an old timer who use to work for the D&RG standard gage thru the Moffat Tunnel. Boy did I pick his brain. Gotta go. Gotta train to ride. Sunny morn after a rainy night.
