Bears have raided the depot trash the last 2 nights. There are bear tracks in the yard near the fire house. Conductor Ray saw one this morning. I'll bet we have some footage. Almost everyone in town has been hit. Waver Frank signing off till the train comes back in.
Have not seen bears, but there were two young deer scurrying like they were being chased by a bear in the north yard.
Frank please verify that it is not Cinder Bear. That could ruin his sendoff set for tomorrow at 10:00 A.M., M.S.T. Thanks.

Here is a nice website to learn the current weather conditions at Cumbres Trestle. It is very detailed and provides historical data as well.
San Juan Extension, Train #216, departs Chama Depot on schedule, 7 cars including open air gondola, pulled by Locomotive #489 enters north yard exit with fire suppression speeder close behind. Mystery rider again appears between car #3 and car #4 wearing official Cumbres&Tolec engineer's cap and denim shirt. These items available at the online store.
Beautiful lazy afternoon at the Chama Depot, as San Juan Train #215 enters the north yard, consisting of 8 cars including 1 open air gondola, with the Mystery Waver holed up in the middle of a crowd of passengers. Locomotive #463 had plenty of steam to blow signals to the hostlers that he arrived and needed their assistance. Their were 89 viewers on the WebCam today. Technical note. Locomotive several times acted as though it would jump out of the screen. There was no editing of the video. The sound track seemed to continue without interruption, however the video portion was a bit erratic. .
Not Cinder Bear raiding our garbage for sure Rick. I exchanged my cancelled Dinner Train ticket for a Parlor Car tomorrow. Watch for me waving from the vestibule, right behind the fire extinguisher. Of course the mystery wavers was me.
Frank, Do any of the other passengers ever ask you why you are waving so enthusiastically? I think we all enjoy it and wish we were there with you....keep it up! When it comes to the C&TSRR I hate to hear 'see you next year' about anything. Take care Cinder Bear.
