7/24/2017 Broadcast Delay - Temporary

The good news is that the camera problems are being addressed. Tim has more hair than me, but I guess he has less right now than when he got out of bed. If I had once worked on the railroad, I would be using a better phrase than "broadcast delay". So, I suggest you use terms that work for you. This video provided through "under common use licensing." Those who need their "quick fix" of Cumbres\Toltec action are advised to activate the following link:

Roger, thanks for the approval to use this video. It is a wonderful graphical explanation of why so many railfans ride the dinner trains. Earlier, I posted this video without first hearing from you.
I was like the Chama farmer who shut the acequia irrigation gate without telling others, the ditch had broken and was flooding my fields. I needed something worthwhile to plug that gap. This is it.

I would like to take this opportunity to suggest to the Administrators that they allow Roger's daily submissions be posted to this subform as well as to General Discussion Subforums: Roger's Chama-Area Updates. It would be the viewer's option to watch his video on the Webcam Forum or the General Discussion Subforum.

Thanks in advance for your consideration

Cameras are back up, but the North Cam is 40 seconds ahead of the South cam.

Frank, thanks for the heads-up on activation of the two cameras. I was too busy yaking to make a video of the departure. Hope somebody has a copy they can upload.

Shot this video not long after the work crew returned from their lunch break. Hustler doing his daily work. Noticed that he is wearing a breathing mask. Smart. Speeder caught heading north towards end of video. This is first attempt to zoom in on action. It brings you closer, but you lose some resolution.

Good to learn that Jason has returned - he holds the key to the third camera.

After that blast from 487's whistle, there should be no question that Train #215 has arrived at the Chama Depot. For those riders waving from the observation car, we wave back and shout "Welcome home."

OK Guys and thank you Rick for the comments. I was in Chama yesterday and the railroad did have to unplug the cameras for a short period as it was affecting the telephones and please remember another work session started. I spoke to John Bush and confirmed that we will share in the cost of additional bandwidth. That will enable us to reactivate the third camera. Thanks everyone.
