Weird pixeling on North and South cams

Unread postby Steve Ritchie » Thu May 04, 2017 10:17 am

Hey Jason, I have a question for you. Since the north and south cams have been changed to instantaneous live cams I have been getting a weird pixeling from about the sand house down to the bottom of the picture. I went back and re-set my access to the site but it is still doing the weird thing, can you help me out?

Gents, I haven't seen that. Does it happen all the time? Can you get me a screen shot?

My immediate suggestions are 1) use Chrome or Firefox, 2) update your browser to the latest revision, and 3) update java (Java.com).

More often than not, those 3 steps will fix ya up.

Thanks Jason. Yeah, it happens all the time, don't know how to do a screen shot or I would. I will try updating Java, our system here at work is supposed to do that but as you know systems sometimes are prone not to do what they are supposed to do, thanks again.

Chrome and Firefox all looks good on all cameras. IE won't load the cams at all, just get a message as seen in pic 1 Microsoft Edge gives the weird pixeling - as seen in pic 2. Those are all the browsers I have access to to test.

I'm using Google Chrome. No problems on this end.

[quote="Steve Ritchie"]... don't know how to do a screen shot or I would.

Press the [windows] and [print screen} keys together - an image will be saved in a folder called "screenshots" in your "pictures" area.

(This is a magically useful feature)

Edge gives that bottom pixilation on other sites I look at also so it is Edge issue.

Went to AOL and it works ok, even with their I'm sure old browser. Doesn't work with windows 10 and Edge.

I don't use Google Chrome or Firefox, and I'm no computer geek. So, why can't we see the live web cams anymore?

My working theory is that it's a bug with Internet Explorer, I don't know exactly what yet. My suggestion is to get Firefox or Chrome. They work just fine.

No issues on Edge...clear pictures. As Jason mentioned it all appears to be with Internet Explorer. Go to Chrome or Firefox.....works just fine.

I can't use Edge as that is for Windows 10, and I have Windows Professional 7; I can view all other web cams around the USA with no problems, but can't view Chama right now. Being patient and hopefully something will be better for me before "Opening Day." : (

Farol,

Both chrome and firefox work great on windows 7. You're version of Internet Explorer is likely dead - Microsoft put a nail in it and it's just not safe to use it anymore.

Greg...thank you for the response. That is what I mentioned several days ago. Forget Internet Explorer as it is done. Google Chrome or Firefox work just fine.

I'll get a note posted on the camera page soon. This question/issue isn't likely to go away for a few more weeks.

Thanks Jason. I did receive an e-mail from the railroad. Someone had e-mailed them so I did respond to that guy.

Well, it wouldn't have made any difference for that guy. Clearly, he can't read instructions.
