01-17-17 Banners (and Snow)

Unread postby Mike Maguire » Tue Jan 17, 2017 11:37 am

I notice that the Christmas banners have been removed from the passenger cars. Can't say exactly when it was done, but quite recently as I've looked in on most days.

The snow continues to make quite a picture of the area - don't remember there being this much last year ...

Last shot I see of the coaches was 1/12. I would guess this week for removal. If you look at the end of the platform, the snow has almost reached the level of the platform.

I love that cam shot of Chama for so many reasons, I don't have snow where I live, so I find it fascinating (those that live with it will undoubtedly disagree).
I love the way it all packs on the roofs like icing on a cake, I can't remember seeing the snow that deep in the yard, its like none of the cars have bogies and are just sitting on a sea of white foam.
And the little halo of snow sitting on top of the lamp shades, lovely stuff.
But the car in the car park has me intrigued, I see it (or at least another) parked there so often, is that an employee's car or someone leaving it there while they go to Florida for the winter?

For those who do not frequent Roger's pages, he said Chama is at 190% of normal right now on snow.

Hopefully it will be a slow melt in the spring to allow it to soak in and avoid flooding.
