Looks like we have 3 hot locomotives simmering out front of the shop this morning. We'll have our daily train today, and then this afternoon the sunset dinner train will depart.

The dinner train departs, smoke obscures much of the train, I'm thinking that's Sharon Evans giving us a wave from the platform of the parlor car, as I know she was riding this train. Looks like a great evening for a train ride!!

I saw a very rare and interesting thing today at Osier, besides dust and rain. As I was watching 216 coming through the valley I was able to see part of Cascade trestle. The train went over the trestle and then I heard 1 whistle, moments later 3 blows and the train proceeded to back over the trestle and around the curve beyond. After a few moments, the train moved forward again and over the trestle. I found out later that there was a PBS crew filming today and low and behold they did a photo runby with the regular train. I later saw this crew in Chama yard and they chased the Sunset train to Cumbres and walked around the pavilion shooting people eating their dinners.
216 Departs Chama -- a photographer near the sandbox seems very close to the tracks, only moving at the last second -- I wonder if he was part of the PBS crew Sharon mentioned, and the crew knew he'd get out of the way. Then again it may look closer than it is on the cams.
#463 is back in Chama, bringing in train 215. After arrival the usual trip to the wye to turn, then locomotive shuffle with 487 taking over for 463. Sorry the end gets cut a bit short, the cam-fan got me.
Dinner train departs, lots of smoke - nearly covers the view of the train. As the parlor car passes the North cam, we can see Sharon waving from the platform.
Dinner train returns. Not on video, as it was really getting too dark to see much, after turning they continued past the depot and backed into the South yard adding on a caboose for Sunday's run.

Sounds like a great catch!! Wonder what they are filming for PBS, any idea?
