Anyone know if work on the historic cars has commenced and if so what cars?

Craig....292 is next in line. No timetable as I understand it but most likely some work will begin this summer.

Why is the commission rebuilding another RPO car when Don Bayer completely rebuilt one already? Wouldn't the money and time be better spent on another varnish car the railroad doesn't already have? How about a baggage car for instance.

To answer that question, the 065 would serve as a concession car and the 54 being the actual historically correct RPO both inside and out.
