Hawk In Hoar Frost

Unread postby Roger Hogan » Fri Jan 15, 2016 7:58 am

Minus 18 degrees f. I was concerned about my camera battery but my Canon 1DX had no problem. Heron Lake is now froze over so no more eagles for a while. I am thinking they are headed further South.

Minus 18? You mean the temperature can actually drop BELOW zero? That's crazy. :smiley16:

The lowest I've ever experienced was 17 and that was at Los Pinos.

You have my respect Mr. Hogan. Getting out in temperatures that low is gutsy.

Great pictures Roger, and yes thank you very much for being out in the weather conditions of winter out there!

I think the lowest temps I've been in actual temp was a few degrees below zero when I lived in New England, but have been in wind chill of the -20's range. That is hard to be out in!!
