I don't think there is an 'oops'. Looks like someone has walked up the trail.

I saw that too, at the time, and then I had seen the foot trail behind the pickup truck. Figured whomever was just out for a Winter hike. Happy New Year, Jason!

Looked to me like the truck on the highway was heading up hill and spun around backwards. Those look like skid marks leading to the front axel. Might just be an illusion.

My "curiosatator" is running at full speed. Why did the the hwy. crews clear that spot ? To allow skiers or snowmobilers a place to park?

I would think so since this is a trail head for heading up the mountain.

I saw a different pickup truck parked in that spot today. He had backed in and parked the truck. We should send Roger Hogan over there with his drone to investigate. Right?

Snowmobilers are here in force. That spot is actually old Hwy 17, and it was cleared last year, too.

You can't see it, but just north of the grade crossing, the parking area on the right, across from Trujillo Meadows, as well as the entrance to the Meadows, is cleared for parking as well.
