The train has apparently cleared Cumbres heading east. Perhaps the CDOT cam will pick it up later today heading back.

The write up on this charter said the train would continue to Osier then back to Chama as a double header. Which engines went out from Cumbres?

I had noted that also Larry, but it sure looked like they were shuffling the locomotives on Jason's grabs from Cumbres.

Thanks, Sharon, for the tip. They were good views from both onboard and chase positions.

Almost 3:30 MDT and still not back to Cumbres yet. They must be doing a number of runbys on the way back up the hill.

Looking at your early pictures they probably went on duty around 0530 so they only have 90 minutes until that go "dead on the law".

Just reviewing video and as to the question of 463 returning - yes, returned to the yard at 12:22 MDT. After turning at the wye and stopping at the ash pit they went back of the shop.

You're welcome Sharon. They did come in rather quietly with only a short toot going through the yard. Here's the video of the return.

I usually leave the CDOT cams to you experts that have done a great job of watching them all year, but couldn't help posting when a quick check revealed a train. It's been fun seeing all we've caught on that cam this year.

Looks like the best of all worlds here. A full day of fun and a safe return. A great way to bring down the curtain for 2015.
Hopefully the last train east goes out without problem and the Chama River bridge is repaired in time for the Toys-For-Tots Christmas Special in December.

Now the next interesting thing to watch... When will #15 appear to be the yard goat after steam ends and shuffling needs to be done around the yard?

Well I have to admit, I would expect some switching this week to reshuffle the freight cars that were on the special. I doubt they will leave them on the main all winter.

You have nearly 1000 videos of the cams to watch all winter, that's how!!!!! The archive thread will soon be fully updated.

The hospital train next week is the last scheduled move we know of, yes. Hopefully we get to see the Christmas train again this year.

Keep your eyes on the Twitter feed and here, I intend to be doing some kind of video review each week, we'll see how that all works out, obviously days of anything going on I'll try to capture as well. Maybe we'll get lucky and get a movie shoot or something over the winter too.

It's only 216 days to opening day 2016!!!!

Right now we have 3 behind the shop, 463 went there earlier, 484 and 489. 488 is behind 487 out front, and I think 487 will be the loco for the hospital train as they coaled earlier today. Things will change - hopefully they don't keep them all out of sight all winter! May still visit the ash pit tonight. My guess is tomorrow will be a well deserved day off for all the workers.

Once again a huge thank you to Sharon and Larry G for all the coverage today.

Jason thank you for the semi live pics this morning, it was great to see that again, appreciate you taking the time to share with us, hope you enjoyed the day.

With that -- I'll be signing off for the evening. We're already feeling the withdrawal of the day.

Larry,
Was glad to do it today until my provider crashed the system late in the afternoon. Back awhile on cellular so will be brief.
A cat watching the screen of the C&TS RR jogged my memory to one of the original logos of years ago in CRRM Annual 9 from 1971. It had a nice article on the new RR using the black cat logo as shown. Article titled "Track of the CATS" too.
Your pet knows!!:)

I took quite a few photos today. Will share them in a few months when I have time to edit. Several other projects need to be finished first.

The Hospital Train is supposed to run Tuesday. But take that with a grain of salt. Things can change.

Also, the railroad is intending to operate the Christmas Trains in conjunction with the Marine Corps' Toys for Tots program IF the Rio Chama bridge is back in service.

Here's a shot from this evening. Seems like a fitting view for the end-of-season: a freight extra heading west in the sunset.

I don't know the specifics of the work, but it's planned MOW work. I remember last year one of the trestle's was getting worked at the end of the season and was put out of service while the work was going on. Hopefully they will have all the work done in the planned time period of six weeks.

How's the fall colors in New Hampshire this year Bruce? My favorite place to visit each fall when I lived in Mass was the White Mountains.

Thanks Larry - I figured it was likely routine preventative if they ran a triple-header over it yesterday!

Color this year has been nice, if not spectacular. Late was the main theme - I have a side job at a restaurant and Columbus Day weekend is usually our peak weekend; this year the numbers carried right through the entire week after the holiday. Apparently I was too distracted to actually take any photos on my own, so here's one my wife took before the leaves all came down.

Thanks Bruce, those colors sure bring back memories. Last time I made it up there was 2003 - same year the Old Man of the Mountains fell down. One of these years I'll get back!
