Doug & Russ's Excellent Day. 2. Whiplash.

Torturing the Suburban again today with Google Earth. We did find a shorter entry/exit to the Whiplash, besides driving the Osier road, and turning at the 305mm.

I'll have to make a quick map, when I can figure out how, but, as you come down D-5 out of Antonito, to Osier, when the pavement ends, take a left. Best I could do on short notice, but you can probably work this out on Google Earth.

It's a much nicer drive that coming in via the Sublette/305MP area, and on the way out, you can see Mogote and Antonito pretty much the whole way. Very spectacular.

Doug, when you say it's a nicer drive, are you referring to the scenery or the road's condition (or both)?
