09-15-15 Morning Calm Before Busy day

A little wildlife video to start the day. The mule deer were visiting by the tipple this morning. Hard to see but they came by the tank cars and then ended up on the top of the tipple track close to the camera. Just out for their morning stroll.

I was lucky enough to tune in just as the school train was heading to the tower for water before heading out.

Jeff

Nice pictures! Looks like they picked up the two tank cars spotted close to the sand house prior to leaving.

I am thinking this is the back of the school train at Cumbres taken at 1444.

Darn if the next update shows 215 passing the other train.

You are welcome Jeff and now here is 215 coming into Chama and passing the depot with 489 leading the 8 car train. There had been several heavy rain showers just before the train arrived.

09-15-15 Train 215 Arrival after a hard rain.
Image
Image

09-15-15 - About 5:05 the school train returned to the yard. North cam vid starts a bit early, train doesn't show up until about 1:30 into it, however I just loved the colors with the sun, clouds, changing colors of the vegetation -- just looked good to me, so let it stay there. Also the train did not return with the tank cars, so they were left off someplace.

09-15-15 487 brought the first two cars of the school train up and spotted them on the tipple track where the tank cars were previously.

The school train did pick up the Friends tank cars (in addition to one other tank car). All three tanks were left at Cumbres.
The school train did meet 215 at Cumbres. The CDoT picture is quite fortuitous since a relatively heavy squall hit just as the school train arrived. 215 arrived at 14:50.
Following the meet, the school train set out the 3 tanks and picked up box car which had been left at Cumbres on Monday.
Wednesday the school train is scheduled out at 0800 and it is intended to go to Osier with pick ups and set outs along the way. It is intended that the school train will return to Chama ahead of 215. All of this, of course, is subject to change.
487 was left over the ash pit at approximately 1900 MDT.
