With all 3 K-36's in Chama, 488 had the honor of taking the 216 east this morning. Shortly afterwards, 489 and 484 took turns visiting the ash pit.

As caught by the CDOT cam, the 216 reaches Cumbres Pass right on time...maybe even a tad earlier than usual.
Something that does seem out of the ordinary, though, is that the train has stopped there for quite a while.

The 10:54:11 pic (which is actually 11:54:11) showed that the train has moved on.

Train looks to have gone in the next cam update, perhaps this is a longer stop with the Cinder Bear program they have going - though certainly haven't seen a longer stop on the cam view in the past. Thanks for capturing those Jeff!

As 484 and 489 await the arrival of their older and smaller cousin, the freshly cleaned ash pit looks great in the afternoon sun.

463 is trying to imitate a hooter with its whistle but not making it, makes it back with the 8 car train it took over yesterday and today no helper.

Looks like a 4:11 arrival today with some showers lurking about.

It was fun waiting for her to arrive...and fun to see when it happened.

Bigger younger cousins sat comfortably while 463 turned the train.

463 switches some extra cars for Friday's train. Perhaps a DH tomorrow is in the works!

Here's today's run of video - fairly quiet day today between the two trains, only real movement was the daily trips to ash pit and tank by 484 and 489. It does look like the setup is there for a double header for tomorrow though!

07-09-15 After 215's arrival, #463 picks up another passenger coach and brings to the main for tomorrows train. By my count that's 9 cars for tomorrow, requiring a double header!

With the usual day of rest they give the engines, 463 will not be on it, so that leaves 484 and 489 and now we wait to see which is the helper and which the road engine.
