About 10:40 this morning, 463 pulled a cold locomotive from the shop, up to about the first switch. Front end loader then brought 3 loads of coal over for the tender, then 463 pushed the locomotive back to outside the shop doors. My first thought was this was 489, however with the loading of coal could this be 487 out for the first time this season?
Whole process took about 20 minutes, first video is the sped up version for those without time for the full version. 2nd video is the full approx 20 minutes of the move.

From where it sits now in front of the 463 I would say it is the 489 - anybody else?

You may well be right, John. I only thought perhaps 487 due to bringing over the coal, whereas 489 should have had some coal in the tender at least. I guess we'll find out when they eventually come to the ash pit.

This is very encouraging to see so many windows occupied going out today.

I am hoping to take up a few of those spots before too long. I guess the 487 will not be ready yet. It pulled the last train I took from Chama. Hopefully we will see the 487 back in action soon.
