2020 session Cumbres Pass Car Inspectors House work

Unread postby Sharon Evans » Sat Jun 27, 2020 10:29 am

A crew came together to continue the work that has been ongoing for several years to repair and rebuild the Car Inspectors house at Cumbres Pass. Last year is was noted during this work at the foundation was in very poor shape and needed to be completely redone. So this year the crew began by doing this. All 4 walls were removed intact to enable quick reassembly and work on the foundation began.
A big thanks and credit for these photographs goes to Tom Simco who sent them to me for this posting.
It should the noted as you look at these pictures that the crew maintain social distancing as best they could under the trying circumstances which includes doing strenuous work at 10,000 feet. There were times when distancing was not able to be maintained but these were held to a bare minimum.

The pictures showing the foundation work were from the tail end of the 2019 season. The crew picture was from the week of 6-15-20

John Cole forwarded me a new group of shots for the Car Inspectors House and will post those here in, what I hope, is the right order.

Tom Simco has sent me additional photos and here is the first one. The other 3 are in a format which I am unable to save onto my computer so I can process them.

Roger has posted a drone video of the car inspectors house. Must have been within the last day or so.
