06-18-15 Sun Screen and a Smoke Screen

A beautiful sunny day starts in the yard. Workers will need to put on some sun screen today. Meanwhile a smoke screen at the ashpit.:)

Later 489 heads from the water tank to the coal dock backing down the main.

They have added the 4th coach to the consist so they must be having good ridership. Also possible is that they switched out the 4th coach for a new one.

A couple of warm, sunny days have enabled the Friends to get a coat of primer on the rotary, and this morning they're applying the gray finish paint. It really needed some attention, and now it's getting it. They're also visibly hard at work on a gon and a box car, and several other projects not viewable on the webcams. As far as the extra coach is concerned, I suspect that the RR is getting seats over to Antonito for Sunday's Geology Train, which is completely sold out.

215 is on time at Cumbres!!! Since it was a great capture enlarged it a bit. CDOT gets a good one today!

A little more than an hour after the Cumbres cam capture 484 brings 215 into the yard at 4:05. Open gon riders are enjoying the day!

Back from the wye at 4:36 so cleaning activities can begin. 484 then does some switching of the student freight train cars after setting out the coaches.

Later 484 spots the UTLX tank car from the north yard into the area the FOCTS have been working on cars this year. It' was neat move to complete:)

Looks like there could be an extra coach Friday on 216 as 484 brings one up. Then it's off to the ashpit and evening servicing for 484 and a loco shuffle.

06-18-15 Train 215 Returns

After 215 returned, and was turned at the wye - #484 was put to use moving the tank car that's been sitting in view of the North Cam this week. Guessing more work on that tomorrow and perhaps the next work session. Also an additional car was put into place for tomorrow's train.


Adding in the depot cam view of 216 departure, as well as a view of the spray painting being done on Rotary OY -- looks like the final coats of gray going on. What an amazing job to get that painting done this week!
