09-30-14 Cool Morning - Great Steam

Unread postby Larry Sullivan » Tue Sep 30, 2014 7:55 am

Temps in the low 30's this morning, and frost in the yard, makes for some nice steam as #484 prepares for the days run.

Couple stills from earlier showing off the frost in the yard -- winter's not all that far away!

One of our Friends members Larry Gibson in the yard this morning, headed to Antonito -- asked me to post a few of his pics of the morning.

When you think about it, the technology is amazing. Here we are looking at a steam railroad, much like it would have been 100 years ago, and instant communication between someone in the yard, sending pics to someone in Florida. In the late 1800's it would have been days if not weeks to travel that far. Technology has it's good parts for sure!

Makes you wonder what's next...

Technology that was unimaginable 100 years ago, or even 30 years ago, is common now. What will we be able to do in another 30 years... or 100?

Adding in a couple more shots from Mr. Gibson shortly after leaving the yard. Depending on connections, if I get any more during the day I'll add in here - though technically not webcam, just going to consolidate all in one thread for now -- may split the pics off later to their own thread.
