WORK SESSION A - Thursday, May 22, 2014

BUSY DAYS IN ANTONITO AND CHAMA - AND, HARD TO BELIEVE, ONLY ONE MORE DAY OF WORK SESSION A! Ed Lowrance has provided us with a good variety of photos from the Antonito side today to show the volunteers' progress.

He also made it over to the old visitor center near the corner of Highways 285-17 where the Antonito merchants are establishing a museum. Headed up by Antonito businesswoman Sandra Gray, this initiative will include exhibits from the Friends as well as those from the San Luis Valley.

Here are Thursday's photos:

1357 is being sidelined for the indefinite future as is the additional car John Bush to ought we might make into a rider gon # 1159 perhaps. Instead a flat car is in the Saturday Chama train which we will make into a rider gon - by Friday. A tall order.

In automotive terms we would say 'unscrew the radiator cap and drive a new car under it'.

It seems that many of the cars the Friends have been taking on the last few years require an extensive, (expensive) rebuilds. Thank goodness for the CRF as you get much more done with the right equipment not working out in the weather.
