Pineapple starting up

Unread postby Pete Stagg » Thu Dec 05, 2013 10:41 am

At 10:30 MT a person was in front of the engine sans tender working on the track with broom & wrenches. A few minutes later another man climbing into the GE and started both engines. Also another man is visible on the caboose. Stay tuned!

Quite the rodeo going on. Like my Grandmother used to say, "see what happens when you leave your toys out in the yard".

That's #488 they were working with. They got her broken loose and pushed her onto the roundhouse #1 lead, using the "pineapple". The diesel then went into the #2 stall of the engine house, and with the door closed, looks like it may stay there for a while. No coal smoke visible yet. Should be interesting tomorrow!
