WEB CAMS ARE UP

Many thanks to those who made this happen. The cams were working at 4:41pm MST though were still down about 8am MST today, June 20th. One thing I noticed right off too, is that the image is much sharper than was, so again, thanks.

And being up and running, it looks like the speeders are set to head out. They are lined in in north yard.

Boy have I missed not being able to watch the departures and arrivals. I understand that the sound issue should be fixed soon too. Many, many thanks to those who have made this possible as it is my primary connection to the railroad.

I have noticed one detrimental item so far. Sunday evening, 6/22, I wanted to watch the arrival of the WB which is scheduled at 6pm EDT (I watch from N.E. Florida) and I noticed that the over all website was very slow to respond. It took sevreal trys but finally I got to the images and that is when I noticed that 28 were watching the north camera on the coaling tower. Then this morning, knowing there would be no train on Monday, I checked and the website came up quickly and there were only 2 watching. This leads me to wonder if there is not a bandwidth or throttling problem once the number of watchers gets to some value. I never saw this issue on the old set up. Even so, I thank those who fixed the broken toy and on Sept. 26, God Willing, me, my wife, and her sister will be on the EB Parlor car, most likely my last visit to the NG promised land. A friend of mine will be riding the day before, which is when we expect to arrive at the Victorian around 4pm, so I plan to wait for the bus back from Antonito to see how his ride went - first time for him, maybee 30th for me as I did several docent trips in the 4 years I did that. If any see this who think they might like to try that. I recommend it highly but it would be better if you are younger than 80 when you start. Most fulfilling thing I ever did and after 34 years working for the wide gauge I was able to give some back.
