The railroad has said that today is the first double header of the season and I see 2 coaches staged past the road to the engine house waiting for the road locomotive to arrive and attach them. This should give at least a 9 car train today.

Using 463 as the road engine is pretty interesting, as I would have expected her to assist 487 to Cumbres and then detach and head east light. Maybe 463 is doing a swap with 484/489 at Osier and 484/489 will bring the train back.

Boy, how long has it been since we've seen a double header? 487 & 463 put on a great show as they take 216 out of Chama. Can't believe we are already a month through the season.

Thanks for posting the photos, Jack. I like to keep tabs on #463, as well as her sister, #464 back here in Flint, MI, who's awaiting her big inspection update. Happy 4th to you!

IMHO 463 is a very special and unique engine, and so is 464. And to you!
