I thought I would share a few more photos of the Antonito Car Shelter. The crews during work sessions "C" and "D" did a fantastic job of putting the roof on! Great job guys!!

Tim, this question was asked on another forum, What is the criteria for which cars get sheltered and who sets that?

The cars currently under the shelter or on the "Friends Lead" are there because:

1. After the movie work was over, they needed to put the cars somewhere out of the way. The entire string, including 0579, was shoved there by #19 and there they sit.
2. Several pieces of equipment find themselves in the way no matter where they end up (e.g. OB). So the car shelter tracks are a convenient place for them.
3. The railroad needed to clear our things in front of the car shop so the concrete pad could be poured... So the 05635 caboose is under there until it is needed elsewhere.

Rich, to answer your question we really don't have any criteria other than the "higher value" restoration projects will have priority for the space. The #256 is there as it will eventually be part of a historic passenger car consist. It sure is great to look at!

Concrete pad is in front of the railroad's car shop. Monday morning last week we saw the track crew working track there. Tuesday there was a nice pad poured.

Tim, I'm not sure if you were referring to the storage building or 256 being good to look at. Either way works for me.
Bill, Thanks! I'll need to check that out.
