More smoke

Looks like 484 is still hot, so maybe we'll see a bit more of her today.

484 is now outside.

And is now at the pit.

It then heads straight past the tank...

The paint job on 484 tender looks awesome. I just wish it could stay that nice and clean for the season.

True, I wish the C&TS could always maintain their engines in spick and span condition like the heritage railways here in the UK do.

Interesting goings on in the yard. They are moving 15 around using the small front end loader. Also wonder if the Friends are going to do some work? Several cars have been moved onto the depot track with one being under the "big tree" and covered by a tarp. Further the wood shop is open.

No trains made it to the pass as of 3:00 PM MDT when the crew there stopped due to rain..
There is a Fireman / Engineer school starting tomorrow.
There has been a recently refurbished stock car sitting on what looks to be the depot track opposite the engine house (has been there for several days).
The wrapped car had been in the swamp with a bunch high side gons.
The Cumbres Pass crew has received several loads of lumber this week. The delivery which arrived today contained some lumber designated for another location.

Couple of quick updates
The wrapped car is another stock car which appears to be in process of restoration.
As of this past Sunday when I walked the yard, there are only 4 passenger cars in the Chama yard.

So it remains to be seen whether the Engineer/Fireman school will start from Chama or Antonito. I am guessing Antonito as trains still aren't aloud to operate from there and 487 and 488 are in Antonito, though I haven't heard of 488 being used at all this year. Mind you that run with 484 yesterday could have been a potential test run for the resumption of services out of Chama.

Well, passenger trains aren't allowed out of Chama, but they have already run one engineer/fireman school out of Chama earlier this month or in May.

I ran into a member of the class and they confirmed the school (this session) is based out of Antonito.
