The system is running at limited capacity, residents are recommended to boil their water and fresh water is being tanker trucked in daily. Nothing is more important than to have quality drinking water. It is also important to the railroads reopening to service and to maintain passenger cars and restrooms."

Tom, I tried getting an update via Google but the most recent article they showed was from about a week ago.
As far as the yard tank, that is fed directly from the river. Potable water can be drawn in Antonito for the coaches there and also trucked to Chama. Osier's well might also be brought into play, I don't know anything about its capacity. Its a thought though.

Good news from the City. Water plant back in service!
from the city, "Happy Friday Residents! It is a happy Friday, as we are making great progress with the start up at the Water Treatment Plant! We will be allowing businesses in the Village that were shut down for water conservation to reopen at this time. Those of you who did stop doing laundry, thank you. You can wash dem' drawls now!

We are producing beautiful quality water! Please note that you must continue to boil your water until the state removes the boil water order. If we can keep enough water in our storage over the weekend, we will begin flushing the distribution system and collecting samples on Monday and Tuesday. When the results show we have passed requirements, the state may have the order lifted as early as end of next week. We didn't think we would be able to have it happen that soon! We will let you know as soon as it happens!

It's great the Chama seems to be resolving its water problem, particularly if everything falls into place before the railroad's operating season starts. I hope things go well for the village and the railroad.
