Good News!

Unread postby Jack Spencer » Tue May 12, 2020 4:50 am

I have now decided, since we (the UK) don't know how long we will remain in lockdown for, that I will continue to post daily screenshots of the day's activities. Unlike last year, it is not guaranteed that I will capture every stage of preparation due to school (when we do return), and possibly a day when I have to miss train 216 due to other commitments.

The reason why I have decided to once again replace (well, cover for) Sharon posting the screenshots is because for me, without a daily recording, the web cam section on our favourite forum just wouldn't be the same. I will take the screenshots on my laptop (morning) and tablet (afternoon) since on my phone only one camera can be streamed.

I have heard that the crews, all being well, will return to full duty on Friday so if there is any steamy activity I will record it then.

Jack. :herald: :proceed:

We all appreciate anything that you do, Jack, even if it from where you are located at and like many of us still, have to remain home. Koodos to you!

Thank you Farol, I am really looking forward to doing them again.
I am also as excited about seeing 'Squeaky' as much as you are I bet!

Jack, glad that you are going to be able to follow through on this again for the upcoming season. With the summer schedule there is only one train a day with 216 on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and 215 on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday with no train Monday. Once the middle of September comes we get back to the 2 trains a day for the remainder of the season. All the special trains are still being shown on the C&TS website, but not sure what, if any, of them will actually run.

I doubt the first Engineer/Fireman school will run because it is supposed to take place before June 13th.

My thought also Jack, but since this is totally separate from the regular trains, it could since the locomotives will be ready by that date.

Yes, Jack, I too will be excited to see and hear "Squeaky" run again. And hopefully she'll get a chance to run before her sister #464 back here at Crossroads Village Huckleberry Railroad, since that park is shut down for all events until October, due to this national virus. I'm sad to miss their "Railfan Weekend" which I've attended, or lastly volunteered, since 1983, and Tim Tennant's help in sending promotional items for more than 8 years. Let's all stay well and be safe.

In case you don't know I also did most of the shots last year too.
It is nice to hear what you do with the screenshots Jack. Bet they always put a smile on everyone's face!

Quick note about the Engineers/Fireman's School: it is scheduled for June 5-8 and they are still planning to run it. If they get cancelled I will let you know (I am on the Engineers School).
