12/8/2019 Day 2 of the Christmas trains

There has been some more snow overnight, and strong smoke is coming from the stack. One point of interest is that they have blocked access to the coal dock by the coaches. This sort of makes no sense as the last time I saw 487, her bunker was almost empty.

Once 487 has come out, she briefly stops to allow a hostler to carefully guide her to the pit.

Now she comes over the pit.

After stopping a bit too far forward, 487 is now in the correct position to have her fire cleaned.

For a second time she does not stop for water at the tank.

All of a sudden, 487 steams out of the yard. My best guess is to clear the line as far as Lobato after today's snow.

487 returned at about 9:40 - briefly stopped near the tank for some reason, then continued on and backed onto the coaches. Also I noticed that 487's tender has been refilled, so everything is good.

Jack there is enough clearance for the 487 to get into the switch leading to the dock.

Sorry Sharon, I did actually have second thoughts. I just didn't realise at first because OY was in the way.

Jack, nothing to be sorry about. I have the advantage of on the ground experience so know where things are related to various landmarks.

Thanks Sharon. Since you have posted a still of the crew clearing out the coal dock lead, does that mean you will be posting more shots today or should I still do it?

No I will not, just thought it was a cool shot which did not include the locomotive and train which you are doing.

Wow, after a nice sunny day yesterday, it is really coming down today.
