OY question

Just wondering if any of you guys know what time OY will arrive in Chama after its ferry move from Antonito with 463?. If it is after 3:00 I will not be able to record it as it will be my bedtime here in the UK.

Thank you Sharon, will be really appreciative if you do. This is one move that I did not want to miss, but the thing is, as everyone in the US knows, the time difference in the UK affects me watching these late arrivals daily and I'm only 14...

The time difference works for you Jack, since by the time 216 leaves at 10 MDT, you are home from school, though most of the season you are out of it anyway.

I have been watching the Cumbres cam and have yet to see signs of chasers at the pass. Once it gets to Cumbres it will be at least 60 - 70 minutes to Chama since I am sure they will be careful coming down the grade.

The train has arrived at the pass. We should see it in Chama by 3:30 barring any problems. This was a lucky catch as the train went over 4th crossing. The next grab shows the speeder.

The OY train has arrived at Cumbres

463 brings in the extra at what seemed like walking pace - the consist was: 7 passenger cars, one open him, a car I have no idea about and, of course, OY.

The car just in front of the OY is the cook car.

To continue the story of the arrival of 463 and its train.

Once the 463 has pulled ahead, the speeder passes on the bypass track

With the speeder out of the way, 463 backs its train past the switch into the bypass

463 how pulls ahead into the bypass and drops the OY and its cook car on the bypass, note that the OY and its cook car were spun somewhere prior to Chama and are now pointed in the correct direction of the special next year

463 has spun its train and is coming back

After pulling ahead far enough to clear the switch into north yard, 463 backs the train into the yard

With its train yarded, 463 backs down toward the depot so the road crew can get off

The 463 waits for the hostlers to board

With the hostlers in charge, the 463 heads to the house lead swtich

The hostlers now are at the pit and will clean the 463s fire

Cleaning done, the 463 backs toward the west stall of the house

Hard to say, but this is probably the last time we will see 463 hot until next year.

At the moment it appears that they have pretty much completed painting OY' s roof white; it looks way better than the red.

Here is a shot just taken of one guy on the roof painting.

Considering that the Friends woodshop is open it is a good guess that they are doing the painting as well as something on the water car that is down by the tree.

Doesn't look like the roof of OY stayed white very long.
