OY question

Unread postby Jack Spencer » Thu Nov 14, 2019 8:31 am

Just wondering if any of you guys know what time OY will arrive in Chama after its ferry move from Antonito with 463?. If it is after 3:00 I will not be able to record it as it will be my bedtime here in the UK.

Jack, probably will be after 3 MST, so I will set up my Bandicam to record and then post if you do not.

Thank you Sharon, will be really appreciative if you do. This is one move that I did not want to miss, but the thing is, as everyone in the US knows, the time difference in the UK affects me watching these late arrivals daily and I'm only 14...

The time difference works for you Jack, since by the time 216 leaves at 10 MDT, you are home from school, though most of the season you are out of it anyway.

I have been watching the Cumbres cam and have yet to see signs of chasers at the pass. Once it gets to Cumbres it will be at least 60 - 70 minutes to Chama since I am sure they will be careful coming down the grade.

The train has arrived at the pass. We should see it in Chama by 3:30 barring any problems. This was a lucky catch as the train went over 4th crossing. The next grab shows the speeder.

Jack, I will be recording but given the time you may just still be up so I will not post anything until I see if you do.

463 brings in the extra at what seemed like walking pace - the consist was: 7 passenger cars, one open him, a car I have no idea about and, of course, OY.

Hard to say, but this is probably the last time we will see 463 hot until next year.

Jerry Day has posted a video of his ride on this run over on Narrow Gauge Discussion and the OY was spun at the Big Horn wye. The video is worth the watch.

At the moment it appears that they have pretty much completed painting OY' s roof white; it looks way better than the red.

Here is a shot just taken of one guy on the roof painting.

Considering that the Friends woodshop is open it is a good guess that they are doing the painting as well as something on the water car that is down by the tree.

Doesn't look like the roof of OY stayed white very long.
