In the early morning light it sure looks like 484 is without her tender, so it must have been removed yesterday. 463 is probably back inside the west stall (not sure if she is tenderless or not). 488 is still hot and behind 15 so she will be the engine to power the Christmas trains.

So, absolutely nothing has been solved on the mystery of 489.

488 makes sense for the Christmas trains in case they need the plow. A friend of mine says that there is a charter this Saturday from Antonito to Chama so will be behind 489. Probably making some more money when running the westbound hospital train.

Afternoon moves, 488 came out to clean its fire and take on water while 15 moved the 484 body from west to east lead of the house and when 488 was done it went onto the west lead.
