Work being done on Tuesday: Would really appreciate anyone involved to add descriptions on what is going on with some of these shots.

Doc McMillen sure seems to be enjoying his work

Which is to drill some holes

Fabricating necessary parts

Welding on the frame

Some welding has been done on this truck frame and they are cleaning up

Well I was correct yesterday, this is a flat car, 6200, these guys are working on here as they measure on a framing member

They have now got the new framing member in place

Loading a coupler pocket onto a handtruck

Hauling it to where its needed

They are placing it onto maybe an end frame member

This work continues

With the new door now fabricated, the crew gets to priming it

I grabbed a few photos this morning but they're on my camera not my phone. It will be a while before I can dump the photos and post them here.

The CRF is a seriously impressive facility. Nearly as impressive as the work of the Friends are doing there.

The photos of Roy and Wayne welding on the trucks is because the plans had the crossmember 1 1/2" too long. Roy and Wayne had to cut all that steel and narrow it down 3/4" of both sides and weld it back together. For most of us that would have been a road block, but Roy and Wayne sure know how to weld.

Those stock car doors are for the car already painted RGS colors, and will help the car look more authentic in a charter.
