Live locomotive at the Engine House. I believe it's 488.

I second that "belief". Once she has pressure up and starts to move, it'll be interesting to hear how she sounds. (Hope she waits for a couple of hours, I need to run some errands.)

After percolating out in front of the engine house all morning, 488 pulled away about 1:10, ran out to the mainline and around the corner out of sight, and returned straight to the engine house at about 1:40. A few minutes later it backed inside. No puttzing around in the yard. It's still in need of paint and lettering before the season begins, but it certainly sounded better than it did last time out!

Friday morning, still smokin'

Unread postby Ed from Loveland » Fri May 10, 2013 7:30 am

8:15 AM: As opposed to the last few Fridays, when there didn't appear to be any activity around the engine house, there appears to be activity today. Smoke is visible from the vent over stall #1, indicating that 488 may still be hot, and the "parts car" has been pulled out of the roundhouse. Soon, of course, this won't seem so special, but after months of looking at snow and little visible activity, it's still a treat!

488 is out of the Engine House and under steam.

I also hear that a C&TS alumni may be returning to the railroad today. Stay tuned for details...

Perhaps something with a internal combustion engine?
